- Taking It to the Streets is an outreach ministry in partnership with Seeds of Multiculturalism. Our team serves from a place of lived experience. We know the pain, uncertainty, and hope that come with loving family members who are experiencing homelessness and living with serious mental illness. The snack bags we distribute are called Diamond Bags, named in honor of my granddaughter, Diamond, who is living with schizophrenia. Our family has not had contact with Diamond for more than two years. During this time, family members have lovingly stepped in to care for her four children.Every time I see someone standing on a street corner holding a sign asking for food, my heart whispers, "That is somebody's child." I cannot help but wonder if someone has shown Diamond the same kindness that we seek to share with others. My prayer is that someone has offered her a meal, spoken a kind word, or reminded her that she is seen, valued, and loved.hat prayer is what inspires our outreach. Each Diamond Bag is more than a bag of snacks—it is a tangible expression of God's love, compassion, and hope. It is a reminder that every person has inherent dignity and deserves to be treated with kindness, regardless of their circumstances. As followers of Christ, we are called to care for those who are hungry, forgotten, and hurting. Through Taking It to the Streets, we seek to meet immediate physical needs while sharing the love of Jesus through simple acts of compassion. We believe that every bag given, every smile shared, and every conversation offered can plant a seed of hope.We invite you to join us in this mission. Whether through prayer, volunteering, or donating, your partnership helps us extend love to those living on the streets—one Diamond Bag at a time. Together, we can remind someone that they are not forgotten, because every person is somebody's child, deeply loved by God.
Your donations are greatly appreciated.
